DNGAK Institute for African Affairs and Africa Policy Research (DINA)

The DNGAK Institute for African Affairs and Africa Policy Research (DINA) is an independent, apolitical African think tank with offices in Berlin (Germany), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) and Dakar (Senegal). DINA’s research focuses on key policy issues affecting the African continent and its countries, as well as African involvement in international relations and international and external actors in Africa. Within this framework, we work to amplify existing work and insights, as well as co-creating new ones. In the process, we identify core issues and formulate policy options, possible solutions and program interventions that are informed by sound research evidence. Our core policy research focuses are: (1) Regional Cooperation in West Africa: ECOWAS and AES, (2) Security governance in the Sahel, (3) Circular economy for human security, (4) Geopolitics and international relations & cooperation, (5) Digital policies and human development, (6) Impact entrepreneurship and innovations, (7) Migration, diaspora and racial discrimination, and (8) African Traditional Knowledge and Innovations.
